Bio


Keith Arthur serves as Branch Head of the Crew Systems and Aviation Operations Branch of NASA Langley’s Research Directorate. He joined NASA in 2014, and served as Team Lead, Co-Project Engineer, Assistant Branch Head, and Branch Head. In 2019 and 2020, he served in details as the Associate Director for the Intelligent Flight Systems Product Line, Head of the Safety-Critical Avionics Systems Branch, and Head of the Autonomous Integrated Systems Research Branch.

Mr. Arthur began his career at the Army’s Aviation Applied Technology Directorate at Ft. Eustis, VA working in helicopter survivability and RF signature analysis. He was part of a team that guided and managed the development and flight test of the Rotorcraft Pilot’s Associate, an electronic co-pilot for an advanced scout-attack helicopter, and served in key leadership roles in projects that developed UAS autonomy and teamed manned and unmanned aircraft for more effective combat operations. He earned undergraduate degrees from Furman University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an MS in Aerospace Engineering with a concentration in helicopter aerodynamics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
