Bio
Nadia Fox is an Aerospace Human Factors Experimental Psychologist in the Crew Systems and Aviation Operations Branch at NASA, which she joined in 2025.
She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology (2024) and a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours, 2019) from The University of Queensland, Australia.
Her doctoral research examined how sleep and cardiovascular recovery influence leadership effectiveness and team psychological safety, using biometric capture, cognitive testing, experience sampling methodology (ESM), and multilevel structural equation modeling.
Before joining NASA, Dr. Fox conducted applied research with executive leaders at McKinsey & Company, led an international clinical trial on the efficacy of breathwork and cold-water immersion, and carried out longitudinal research on recovery and resilience with U.S. Arctic warfare operators.
Currently, she serves as Principal Investigator on research examining one-to-many (m:N) human-automation teaming. Her work focuses on human factors and pilot performance in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), particularly in beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations within unmanned traffic management (UTM) environments.
